Introduction: In the Laga mountains you can still put together interesting, little-frequented hiking routes in a very wild setting. It is an area of varied character, able to give you all sorts of sensations and emotions of real mountains. A varied loop that opens up unexpected views of Monte Gorzano and Pizzo di Sevo, which in any case stay imposingly in sight for most of the route.
Route characteristics: What is proposed here is a hiking route for experienced, well-trained hikers who know how to deal with the mountain environment. The complexity of the route lies in two rather steep, broken sections, not mountaineering terrain but certainly potentially dangerous.
The story of a day on this route is in the trip report Cima Lepri and Peschio Palombo with an exceptional guide.

In Amatrice there are plenty of bars, bed & breakfasts and agriturismi (farm stays); it is well worth lingering here and rediscovering real Bucatini all'Amatriciana.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the Cima Lepri and Peschio Palombo loop from Voceto take?
The loop takes about 8 hours of walking, with 1350 metres of total ascent. It is a loop for experienced, well-trained hikers, with a stretch of ridge where you also climb using your hands.
Is the route to Cima Lepri dangerous?
The difficulty is EE+ (Escursionisti Esperti: for experienced hikers, upper end of the grade). There are two delicate points: the first 250-300 metres above the Sorgente del Moro, on grass and loose rubble, and the steep shoulder on the descent towards the Cavallo di Voceto. It is not suitable for children and the waymarking is sparse.
